Our Programs

Personal Support and Development

Through our integrated programming, we cultivate personal, behavioral, and spiritual development, such as continued sobriety, personal wellness, financial stability, and the importance of giving back to the community.

Community Service Alliance sees all relationships as potentially life-long. In particular, eight “key communities” are the core relationships we hope to foster and grow. From landlords to employers; from people of faith to community neighbors; from local government agencies to private foundations; and from other service providers to the homeless themselves – Community Service Alliance seeks long term relationships with all those who welcome us as a catalyst and relationship-builder for men in transition.

Each resident is expected to enter into service to the community at some level of commitment and longevity. Receiving without guilt or shame, but also giving back without expectation of praise, gratitude or repayment is central to our mission and our core value of contribution.

Determining where each man is in their life journey is predicated on active listening and mutual planning toward desired goal attainment. Once goals are defined, community resources, drawn from those Key Communities, are brought to bear and mutually coordinated among client, staff and community contact(s).

Each and every relationship must be mutually beneficial for this collaborative strategy to work effectively. Every partner from our Key Communities must feel that each and every referral from Community Service Alliance is both ready and able to enter into a relationship where all parties are enriched and blessed in all ways – emotionally, spiritually, materially, and, if necessary, financially.

Evolving and changing to meet the needs of those we serve is critical to the success of our mission. Every day we are reminded that this work is God’s and that it is so much greater than we can hope to understand.

Work Experience and Career Development

Our network of business partners allows us to offer our program participants access to employment opportunities, work experience, and on-the-job-training.

The business of Community Service Alliance is to provide ongoing consultation to and oversight for a community building transformation process, while also serving as a catalyst of strategic alliances that focus on structuring opportunities for homeless individuals and providing a context where ongoing challenges of all partners can be mutually addressed. To carry out that mission, we work with men in the areas of training, jobs and housing.

These three support areas are interconnected – we “do deals” with and on behalf of our residents and each “deal” is different, but each must consider where each man is in relation to each support area. One does not always lead into or follow another. They are all at work, but not in any set order.

Transitional Housing and Preparation Programs

Our sober-living facilities help men get back on their feet by providing short-term housing and preparing participants for independent living.

Change lives right where you are

We often get asked, “What’s the best way to help?” Our answer is simple: You don’t have to travel to Cleveland, Ohio to make a difference. In fact, the best way you can help is by staying right where you are. We need passionate people to spread awareness about homelessness and our effective approach to helping men grow past their current circumstances – then raise money to sustain it. So roll up your sleeves and use that laptop you’re sitting or standing in front of – it’s your most powerful tool.
