Sandy's House: CSA Opens Third Housing Site in Honor of Sandra Sullivan

Community Service Alliance dedicated its third housing site, Sandy's House, at a special ribbon cutting and dedication service held on Thursday, June 13, 2013.

Sandy's House is named in honor of Mrs. Sandra Sullivan, one of the founding Board members of CSA, a loving and long-time supporter of the agency's mission, and a selfless advocate for men transitioning from homeless to independence.

Sandy's House is a six-room home that will address the needs of men who require the support of CSA for a longer-term transition to independence.

The ribbon cutting and dedication ceremony was attended by more than 180 people.  Participants in the service included: Randell McShepard, Vice President of Corporate Affairs at RPM International, Inc. and CSA Board member; Barbara Jacobus, Co-Founder of CSA and current Board member; Garnett Slatton, Senior Pastor at Bay Presbyterian Church, Ben Baker, Worship Arts Leader at Bay Presbyterian Church and CSA Board member; and Artie Parks, a member of the renovation crew on Sandy's House and a resident of CSA's Procop House.

Participants in the dedication and ribbon cutting included William Dillingham, President of Buckeye Business Products and Board President of CSA, and Tim Gleason, Executive Director of CSA.  Sandy Sullivan was joined by her husband, Tom Sullivan, and other family members to cut the ribbon and unveil the plaque commemorating the home in Sandy's honor.  Father Tom Mahoney provided the blessing.

Financial support to renovate and restore the site was generously contributed by a number of organizations and individuals, including the Cleveland Foundation, George Gund Foundation, Catholic Community Foundation, RPM International, John T. and Suzanne S. Jacobus Family Foundation, Family Ministry Center/Bay Presbyterian Church, Frontier Packaging Enterprises, Inc., Mr. William Dillingham, Mr. and Mrs. Randell McShepard, Ms. Catherine O'Neill, Ms. Barbara Jacobus, Mr. and Mrs. Craig Morford, and Mr. and Mrs. James Weigelt.
