CSA Welcomes Donald Stark to the Board of Directors

CSA is pleased to welcome its newest member of the Board of Directors, Donald Stark.

Don is a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, having served in Viet Nam with MAG-13 (Marine Air Group) in Chu Lai.  His occupational specialty was Air Intelligence/Flight Briefer for the F4 Phantom pilots.  Don is a member of both the VFW and the American Legion.

Don is a graduate of St. Edward High School.  He continued his education at The Ohio State University in a Communications/Broadcast Journalism curriculum after his military service.  While at OSU, Don worked at WLWC-TV, an NBC affiliate, directing the weekend news programs and the Phil Donahue Show at the Ohio State Fair each summer.  Eventually he was asked to join the WLWC sales staff, which began a three decade career in broadcast sales.

After a move home to Cleveland, Don served as Regional Sales Director at WUAB-43 and Sales Manager for WMJI/Robinson Broadcasting.  He also was the National Sales Manager for WGAR and CBS WQAL Radio, and was involved in national television sales at Petry Television.  During his career, Don sat on the Board of Directors of the Cleveland Association of Broadcasters and served as the Vice President of that Board for several years.

Now retired, Don volunteers with Hospice of the Western Reserve working with an emphasis on their veterans initiative, Peaceful and Proud.  He also volunteers his time to Friends Helping Friends, a non-profit charity based on Cleveland’s west side, and is currently President-Elect of the Board.  Don is a former Fairview Park Councilmember, a Bronze Eagle Award recipient for “Distinguished St. Edward Alumnus,” and a former Head Wrestling Coach at St. Angela Merici school.

Don lives in West Park with his significant other, Nancy Miller.  They have five adult children from previous marriages; Nancy with two daughters and Don with three sons. They enjoy traveling to spend as much time as they can with their children and three grandchildren.
