CSA Alumnus Featured in Foundation’s Annual Report

CSA would like to extend a very special Thank You to the Community West Foundation for highlighting our work at Fulton House in their most recent annual report.  And our thanks are also extended to Fulton House alumnus, Michael Gaines, for sharing his very compelling journey!

Michael’s story is indeed a “success story” – one of so many that CSA is proud to have had a role in.  When approached by the Community West Foundation, Michael willingly opened up about his life – his upbringing, his career as an Army medic, the variety of personal problems and a battle with alcohol that led to an out of control spiral downward, and then his time at CSA where he took the time he needed to work on many issues and continue his recovery.  As Michael said, “I’ve seen first-hand the difference the right support can make. This is the best place that I know in the city of Cleveland to give a guy a chance, to work at a gradual pace to get himself back together.”  Michael now lives in his own place and enjoys a regular, full-time job, and he says, “It’s all thanks to the staff at Community Service Alliance for the belief that they put into people like me to rebuild our lives.”

CSA is proud of Michael, and the many men like him, who journey with us on a path to independence and self-sufficiency.  And we are grateful to the Community West Foundation for highlighting that work in its annual report!  You can read the full article by clicking here and scrolling to page 23 of the Foundation’s annual report.
